Cityscapes is a physical embodiment of the rumbling, ever changing nature
of our abundant city of Tamaki Makaurau. It is a journey through time and space that speaks to both the whenua below our feet and the tangata who hurry above it. The evolution of this work begins with the land itself, morphing and ever-changing. We then see the inhabitants, discovering, building and finding themselves within the world. The work then takes us to the system that is the city; the way in which everyone has a job to do inside the machine. But what if machine was to stop, or even to malfunction... what happens to us then? Maybe we might discover something new together.
